Illinois Intercollegiate Forensics Association State Tournament Results.

The NIU Forensics Team recently traveled to Illinois Central College for the Illinois Intercollegiate Forensics Association State Tournament.  Senior Chase Budziak was a state finalist in Dramatic Interpretation and won 5th place.  Junior Mariam Afzal was a state finalist in Oratory and won 4th place.  Junior Kerri Simons was the state champion in Oratory.  This means that Kerri will represent the State of Illinois at the oldest speech contest in the United States, the Interstate Oratory Contest.  This year the contest will be held in Madison, Wisconsin, with final rounds at the state capitol.  Kerri joins 11 other NIU orators who have represented Illinois at this prestigious tournament.
