In an effort to improve Advising available to students in the Department of Communication, faculty are adding posted advising hours to their busy schedules. New procedures are also coming into practice. To give students maximum freedom, we will no longer assign students to a specific professor/adviser. Students are urged to consult the advising grid to find someone suitable for their needs and interests.
Professors and staff are color-coded by their emphases and areas of expertise. You may contact any of them. Best practice will be to email the adviser ahead of time to ask for an appointment during their advising hour. Walk-ins will be seen in a system similar to restaurant reservations - best to plan ahead and reserve your needed time.
Students are asked to bring advising material that expedites the counseling session. Have your questions carefully framed to ensure maximum satisfaction in advising interactions. Check out this site regularly for material that will be useful in planning your optimum degree progress
